Nesting & Dying -ghostpatrol & miso.

Yeah, I know what I said. But you know me better than that, dont you.

Last night I went along to opening night of the new Ghostpatrol & Miso exhibition @ Metro 5 Gallery in Armadale. It was the best one yet!! I was also lucky enough to pick up a copy of their new book of art. It is so special and I will treasure it for a long time.

The atmosphere was amazing, and with so many new pieces to look at I spent a long time just hovering around. If you didnt get to go, there is still hope!! Check out the brochure below for details.

Amount of fun = 12x12

I was lucky enough to go along to another opening night of a new exhibition at No Vacancy Gallery in QV. This one naturally also featured my fave artist of the moment, ghostpatrol.

The unexpectedly extra awesome thing about this exhibition was that the work he featured was my fave stuff - the pencil art!!! Such as this one featured below....

Up until now the only place I'd seen these was on the internet, so this was my first chance to get up close and really examine them. When you do, you realise just how much work has gone into it. And yes, they ARE real pencils!!

Such incredible art!! I also noticed one of the dolls ghostpatrol also makes on the table.
I was too scared to ask how much it was or if it was for sale because I didnt want to officially crush my
dreams of owning one.

It was just way too cute.

What makes an awesome day?

Yesterday was one for me, so let me tell you a bit about it.

What makes an awesome day?

- a successful and immensely fun gig.
- support and encouragement from amazing friends.
- a cupcake at my fave melbourne cupcake store.
- attending an art gallery exhibition and scoping out all the 'hot man' eye candy.
- dinner with some of my best friends.
- yummy dessert and great chai tea in degraves st.

Cant really get much better than that.
Bless.

camera happy

Yeah, I'm just like the next person. I like taking photos.... it's my creative soul. So, whilst standing out the front of the National Art Gallery in Melbourne today I was amused but not shocked to see a busload of Japanese tourists with their cameras get out. About 10 of them were dressed in matching white tracksuits and had matching cameras too. They took lots of photos. I tried to blend into the background, standing by myself near the front of the building. But as two of the ladies came up to me I realised I might have to do some work and take their photo. But what happened next shocked me.

They said: "excuse me, do you mind taking a photo WITH us." Not OF us. WITH us. "um... ok" I said, as two of them stood next to me and a few shots were taken. THEN as if the flashes were a signal or a silent cue all of the others suddenly looked over and then ran - yes, they RAN towards me. "I want photo too" they all cried. I dont know if they thought I was an exhibit or a street performer or what exactly. Next thing I know I'm standing next to 10 all Japanese ladies in their matching tracksuits. They take photos with each of their cameras, while people come and go from the shot. "Thanks for being nice," one lady said "you are very cute." I smiled and pretended this was normal. Then as quickly as they came they all left me alone again... to wait for my late friend.

But they left me with a good story and I thank them for that.
