Time is a healer

"They told me that in time I would get past this pain,

but as I cried myself to sleep I couldnt believe them.

They told me that this fear would make me stronger,

but as I lay under the covers, shaking, I couldnt see it.

They told me that he wasnt worthy of my love,

but when he held me in his arms the whole world just melted away.

They said that there are lessons in everything,

but when I tried to analyse it all I couldnt find a single one.

They said that sometimes I had to give in even though I wanted to

fight against it with every ounce of my being.

And now, with time, I can look back and realise that they were right."
