I think its a good idea. I mean, look at bunnings. They phased out plastic bags ages ago and we dont even notice it now. If we want to reduce our plastic intake then we must put a levy on them. It'll make the average person think twice and that's better than nothing. And the money should go to producing environmentally friendly bags... or something equally green.
Also - Peter Garrett??? He's an idiot. I'd like to see just what he has actually done FOR the environment since becoming the Minister. Apart from signing off on Buggering the Bay, and now this debacle, I cant find much else in the news. Not to say he hasnt done things.... I just dont know of anything good. I am open to being educated on my ignorance though...
